Andy File Associates Limited is working as a Recruitment Agency on behalf of our client with regards to this permanent position.
Salary: £15.20 p/h, £31,616 plus overtime
Reporting to: Team leader
Location: Wakefield
Scope of Role: Reporting to the Team Leader - Welding, responsible for manufacturing and welding Stainless Steel cylinders at the Wakefield manufacturing site.
Hours: Permanent, 6am – 2.30pm Monday to Thursday and 6am – 1pm on a Friday.
COMPLIANCE
- Cooperating with and supporting the compliance management system and encouraging personnel to do the same.
- Developing personnel awareness of product compliance obligations.
- Actively participating in corrective actions from concerns or internal audits.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for the health and safety of themselves and their co-workers.
- Responsible for inspecting the quality of the products as they are manufactured, ensuring only products of the highest quality are produced.
- Ensuring customer orders and the production plan are manufactured on time and in full.
- Maintain a high standard of housekeeping in the work area to ensure a safe working environment is maintained.
- Supporting a culture where health and safety is the number one priority.
- Adherence to the Health and Safety policies and working to improve the culture of safety first.
- Following all company policies and procedures.
- Raising near miss forms for any near miss or unsafe observation witnessed.
- Carrying out daily duties in accordance with SOPs and risk assessments.
- Escalating any issues with machines, materials, etc., to your team leader.
- Only carrying out an activity that you are fully trained on and signed off against the SOP.
- Carrying out all assigned training in a timely manner.
- Supporting the Quality and Product Management teams where required to improve product quality and optimise manufacturing processes.
- Supporting the successful introduction of new products into manufacturing and product compliance where required.
- Maintaining and promoting a compliance culture throughout the organisation in order to ensure the highest levels of integrity, honesty, and professionalism.
- Promoting the highest possible standards of health, safety, environmental, quality, and product compliance, ensuring that compliance is an integral part of the business and our requirements and procedures.
- Adhering to Quality Management System (QMS) requirements in line with ISO9001:2015.
- Assisting in general department functions.
- Performing other reasonable related duties as required.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Essential:
- Experience in TIG welding.
- Experience in manual manufacturing processes.
- Experience in working in a target-based environment.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Must have a very ‘hands-on’ and highly proactive and positive attitude.
- Self-motivated and able to work individually or as part of a small team.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise own workload.
- Problem-solving skills, including the ability to manage conflicting work demands.
- Effective communication and self-motivation skills.
- Ability to work under pressure to meet short deadlines.
- Ability to liaise with staff at different levels of the business.
Desirable:
- Experience in MIG welding.
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings.
- Qualification: Formal welding qualifications.
