Your New Role

Hays Logistics are currently looking for an Interim Transport Manager for a 6-month contract to start immediately. You will be an experienced Transport Manager who holds a CPC and will be based at one of 2 offices in either Goole or Barnsley.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee and manage the daily operations of the transport department.
  2. Ensure compliance with all transportation regulations and company policies.
  3. Coordinate and optimise the scheduling and routing of vehicles.
  4. Monitor and manage transport budgets, costs, and performance metrics.
  5. Lead and support a team of drivers and transport staff.
  6. Liaise with clients, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth operations.
  7. Implement and maintain health and safety standards within the transport department.

What you'll need to succeed:

  1. Proven experience as a Transport Manager or in a similar role.
  2. CPC National or International qualification.
  3. Strong knowledge of transportation regulations and compliance.
  4. Excellent organisational and leadership skills.
  5. The ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  6. Proficient in transport management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  7. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  8. Flexibility to work in either Goole or Barnsley as required.

What you'll get in return:

  1. Competitive salary, between £40,000 - £45,000 per annum.

  3. 6-month contract.
  4. Hybrid working, 4 days in the office, 1 day based from home.
