Location: Spalding Parish Church of England Day School, PE11 2QG

Salary: £20,418.65 - £21,412.70 per annum (Pro Rata)

Job Type: Part Time, Permanent

Working Hours: 30 hours per week, 11.30am - 6.00pm (with 30 minute unpaid break)

Caretaker The Role:

At the heart of every thriving school is a dedicated caretaker who ensures a safe, clean, and well-maintained environment for students and staff. We are looking for passionate individuals to join our team as caretakers.

As a school caretaker, you will play a pivotal role in the day-to-day upkeep of the school, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for students, teachers, and visitors.

Caretaker Responsibilities:

  1. Maintaining school grounds and buildings (cleaning, repairs, security)
  2. Ensuring health and safety standards are met
  3. Setting up and managing facilities for events and activities
  4. Being a trusted point of contact for staff and visitors regarding building-related concerns
  5. Maintain the security of the premises and its contents, including the operation of fire and burglar alarms
  6. Be a trustworthy key holder responsible for the opening and closing of the site
  7. Have responsibility for the cleanliness of the premises, taking corrective action when needed
  8. Carry out routine maintenance of buildings and décor i.e. minor decoration, repairs and those tasks which would not normally require the services of an outside contractor

Caretaker You:

  1. 4 GCSEs or equivalent in English and Maths
  2. Considerable DIY experience, minor maintenance level
  3. Working knowledge of Health and Safety relating to the post
  4. Knowledge of the requirements of site security
  5. Reliable & Responsible
  6. Flexible & Adaptable
  7. Proactive & Hardworking
  8. Friendly & Approachable
