About the English Teacher Role:
As an English Teacher, you will be instrumental in shaping the educational experiences of our young learners. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Providing an outstanding and tailored learning experience that meets the unique needs of each student.
- Creating a calm, safe, and engaging learning environment that fosters curiosity and a love for English literature and language.
- Committing to the holistic education of every child, nurturing their emotional well-being alongside their academic growth.
- Understanding and implementing the school's ethos and policies in your teaching practice.
- Upholding confidentiality and professionalism in all aspects of your role.
Curriculum Responsibilities:
In this dynamic role, you will adopt a unique and creative approach to teaching, focusing on identifying the interests and learning styles of each pupil. Your duties will include:
- Planning, preparing, and evaluating customised learning programmes that promote physical, emotional, social, cultural, and moral development.
- Teaching individual students and small groups, adapting lessons and methodologies as needed.
- Supporting students in preparing for public exams and assessing their abilities to help them reach their full potential.
- Supervising pupils during exams and presentations.
- Contributing to curriculum development, ensuring that school activities enhance pupils' overall development.
Pupil Engagement:
A successful English Teacher will excel at building meaningful relationships with pupils. In this role, you will:
- Stay informed about safe working practices while maintaining a focus on health and safety.
- Collaborate with the senior leadership team and fellow educators to develop courses, materials, and assessment methods.
General Duties of an English Teacher:
In addition to your teaching responsibilities, you will be expected to:
- Prioritise the safeguarding and welfare of all pupils according to school policies.
- Engage in regular reviews of your teaching methods and work programmes with senior staff.
- Foster relationships based on trust, understanding, and respect as students navigate their educational journey.

Assessment and Reporting:
Accurate assessment and reporting are essential for supporting pupils' futures. As an English Teacher, you will:
- Utilise available mechanisms to assess the emotional well-being, learning, and behaviour of students.
- Maintain detailed records of assessments and prepare insightful reports for Annual Reviews and other meetings.
