Key Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Work as part of a team undertaking Highways repairs, cyclical works including gully cleaning and general highway maintenance.
  • Use technology (tablets/apps) to input safety data and maintenance records.
  • Drive/operate plant and equipment where trained, necessary for the day to day tasks set.
  • Take responsibility for vehicles/plant/materials in your charge.
  • Where appropriate provide direction/supervision of the work to less experienced operatives.
  • Undertake winter and emergency maintenance out of hours activities on a standby rota.
  • A commitment to Health and Safety.
  • Good communication skills and basic literacy and numeracy.
  • Ability to undertake a high level of manual work and work outdoors in all weathers.
  • LGV Class C driving licence OR demonstrate capability to support investment of LGV Class C training during probationary period.
  • CSCS Card.
  • New Roads and Street Works (NRSWA) Operative Accreditation.
  • HGV Class 2.
Additional Information
  • You must possess a high degree of manual dexterity demonstrated through the use of hand tools.
  • You will be required to work outdoors in all weathers and be required to walk and stand on uneven ground.
  • You must also be able to work within a confined space, without restriction.
