As an English Intervention Specialist, you will play a crucial role in helping students overcome challenges, ensuring they achieve their potential in this vital subject.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver Targeted Interventions: Plan and deliver tailored sessions for small groups or individual students needing extra support in English.
  • Identify Learning Gaps: Work with teaching staff to assess students' specific needs and develop strategies to address them.
  • Support Literacy Development: Help students improve their comprehension, vocabulary, grammar, and writing skills.
  • Boost Confidence and Engagement: Build positive relationships with students to enhance their confidence and motivation in English.
  • Exam Preparation: Assist students in preparing for assessments and exams, focusing on key skills and exam techniques.
  • Monitor Progress: Track students' performance, provide feedback, and adapt interventions as needed to maximize their progress.
  • Collaborative Work: Support classroom teachers by aligning intervention work with the broader curriculum and contributing to a cohesive learning environment.
Minimum Requirements
  • Strong English Background: A degree in English, a related subject, or significant experience demonstrating expertise in English.
  • Educational Experience: Previous experience working with secondary school students, particularly in a support or intervention capacity, is highly advantageous.
  • Effective Communicator: The ability to explain concepts clearly, inspire students, and adapt teaching methods to suit individual needs.
  • Passion for Education: A genuine commitment to helping students succeed and develop their English skills.
  • Organised and Resourceful: Strong planning and organisational skills to create impactful intervention sessions.
  • Collaborative Mindset: A willingness to work closely with teachers, parents, and school staff to support student progress.
