Job Description SummaryThe Lead Lean Specialist is responsible for transforming GE’s results through the application of FLIGHT DECK, GE Aerospace’s proprietary, lean-based management system. Specifically, the Lead Lean Specialist will work closely as a partner with the Site Lean Leader and support a specific area of the business to implement Lean practices, driving both a change in operating mindset and ensuring the Lean and management system fundamentals of FLIGHT DECK are effectively applied to drive operational results for our customers. The primary responsibility of this position is to develop the proficiency of a specific business area leadership team and employees in applying these fundamentals to continuously improve our Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost performance.

Job DescriptionEssential Functions (Responsibilities):
  • Lead and execute Lean Transformation within a specific area of the business.

  • Coach Lean Principles and Tools (5S, VSM, Pull) to all levels of the team. Identify and facilitate Kaizen Events that will directly improve our Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost performance.

  • Coach and mentor the daily management and operating cadences to area leadership.

  • Coach teams to Problem Solve in a systematic way using a Lean mindset.

  • Develop and maintain the value stream mapping process within a specific area of the business to identify constraints and focus on the elimination of the waste.

  • Be an advocate of FLIGHT DECK.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

  • Ability to lead and motivate others within a team environment.

  • Lean practitioner, capable of facilitating kaizen events and coaching the core tools such as Daily Management, structured Problem Solving, Value Stream Management, Standard Work and Transactional Process Improvement.   Experience in transforming process from traditional “batch and queue” to “flow and pull” experience preferred.

  • Demonstrate ability as a change agent and of influencing skills.

  • Impactful communicator from the shop floor to board room.

  • Results orientated and record of achieving high performance objectives.
