Job summaryConsultant in Emergency Surgery with an interest in Bariatric SurgeryThese is a 10 PA substantive post (8 DCC, 2 SPA) mainly based at St Marys Hospital, but may require occasional work at the other main sites of Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust.The Department of General Surgery wishes to appoint a substantive Consultant in Emergency Surgery with subspecialty interest in bariatric surgery. The appointee will provide emergency on-call commitments on a 1:8 basis at St Mary's Hospital depending on the needs of the department. The post will support the development of effective emergency surgical pathways, in particular, to help the trust maintain its four hour wait targets and ambulatory care pathways.Applicants require general, benign upper GI and bariatric competencies, in both elective and emergency settings. Education/Qualifications
