The Role

We’re looking for a pragmatic Communications Hub Radio Frequency & Hardware Expert who can evolve business needs into effective solutions to deliver robust technical capabilities to DCC and its Customers.

What will you be doing?

As our Communications Hub RF & HW Expert, you will:

  • Collaborate in the formation of hardware and RF requirements for the Communications Hub product
  • Solve technical challenges and lead the development of solution appraisals and designs
  • Build relationships with solution providers to understand the complexities of their solutions
  • Challenge solutions in order to optimise value-for-money and technical capability
  • Represent the solution architecture function at stakeholder liaison and governance groups
  • Support requests for changes to designs and the implementation of modifications
  • Provide RF and HW technical expertise to the Quality Management processes for manufacturing of Communications Hubs
  • Provide RF and HW technical expertise to the Incident and Problem Management processes

What we are looking for?

  • Experience in RF design and testing of IoT products supporting multiple technologies, including ZigBee PRO running on 868MHz and / or 2.4GHz.
  • Experience and familiarity with 2G/3G/4G, Sub-GHz/2.4GHz ZigBee, WiFi, and Bluetooth coexistence issues
  • Good understanding of Antenna design and characteristics (Gain, Directivity, VSWR etc.)
  • Experience and familiarity with Wide Area Network technologies, particularly cellular systems, bands, 2G/3G/4G 3GPP RF specification
  • Knowledge of product compliance testing (e.g., EMC, EMI, and other related tests)
  • Knowledge of Quality Management for Manufacturing of IOT type products
  • Strong written and verbal (including presentation) communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to demonstrate attention to detail and accuracy
