Job Description
We're recruiting a Principal Software Engineer for our client in Central London.
The role:-
You'll be part of a heavily backed start-up developing new cloud services for the European market. As a Principal Software Engineer, you'll be a key player in their engineering team, bringing a wealth of experience in backend development and a proven track record of technical leadership. This role is designed for a visionary engineer who can set the technical agenda, drive innovation, and coach other developers to excel in their craft.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the design, development, and deployment of scalable backend services using Go, Rust, and other relevant technologies.
Spearhead the adoption of cutting-edge technologies like Kubernetes, Knative, Rook, Cassandra, and Spark to enhance our product offerings and infrastructure.
Set the technical direction for the team, ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic goals and industry best practices.
Mentor and coach other developers, fostering a culture of technical excellence, continuous learning, and collaborative problem-solving.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives, optimising performance, scalability, and reliability of our systems.
Requirements
~10+ years of experience in software development, with a strong focus on Backend engineering and Distributed systems.
~ Expertise in one of the following programming languages - Go, Rust, C, C++
~ Demonstrated ability to set technical vision and direction for development teams.
~ Strong leadership skills with experience mentoring and coaching developers.
~ Excellent problem-solving capabilities, focusing on delivering efficient and scalable solutions.
~ Proven track record of successful project delivery and technical innovation.
~ Excellent communication skills in English
