Job Description

As a Senior Engineer at Checkout.com in Engineering Effectiveness, you will be working on the technology services that power our internal developers. Ensuring our CI/CD design is operating smoothly, rolling out change across our engineering teams and always in a cloud native environment.

You will help define the standards for our CI/CD systems, our source control management and our general SDLC, working together with product and engineering leadership. You are an expert in building, operating and monitoring build systems. The difference you can make each day will be felt by hundreds of developers.

Our product suite integrates a number of in house tools with industry standards for source and package management, ci/cd pipelines and observation and telemetry.

What you'll be doing:

  1. Developing, integrating and maintaining CI/CD systems that support our developer experience within Checkout.com
  2. Designing, developing and maintaining CI/CD applications that monitor and control our environment
  3. Collaborate on the architectural design for our ci/cd based systems
  4. Mentor and upskill engineers, providing technical guidance and best practice
  5. Research new technologies and prototype potential solutions for performance, scalability, resilience and availability.
  6. Look for opportunities to improve architectural design patterns, initiating change to remove complexity
  7. Assist in requirements identification and in producing specifications
  8. Collaborate with globally distributed and multidisciplinary teams
  9. Design, develop, and deliver new features integrating various companies RESTful APIs and related services
  10. Create and maintain a development environment for efficient testing and integration
  11. Support the creation and maintenance of technical documentation
  12. Encourage recommendations for continuous improvement of the SDLC from team members
  13. Contribute to the definition of coding standards, best practices, and procedures

Qualifications

  1. Experience in designing and managing large, scalable, high throughput, highly available and fault-tolerant systems
  2. Experience in Cloud-based application development (we use AWS)
  3. Experience using the Microsoft stack, specifically .NET Core
  4. Experience in CI/CD pipelines
  5. Experience in source management capabilities
  6. Strong knowledge and appreciation for software design and architecture
  7. Experience with securing the CI/CD pipeline
  8. Enthusiastic about delivery and experience working in a fast-paced agile environment
  9. Desire to work on an exciting product suite within a fast scaling technical business
  10. Excellent practical knowledge of OOP concepts and SOLID principles
  11. Solid understanding of and RESTful design
  12. Experience with SQL and NoSQL
  13. Experience with Unit and Integration testing approaches
  14. Expert level experience in Software Development, Design, and Architecture
  15. Excellent communication skills, ability to interact effectively with multidisciplinary teams
