London, United Kingdom TreQ Full time

Job Description

TreQ is seeking a technical leader to launch our quantum hardware Innovation and Integration Center. Your primary responsibility is to pioneer groundbreaking solutions for deploying quantum computing systems to fit bespoke needs of a broad range of world-wide customers. At the outset, you’ll construct a prototype superconducting system in TreQ’s Innovation and Integration Center (near Washington DC or London). Beyond this endeavour, you will grow a team to diversify our portfolio of custom quantum systems. This includes everything from design and component procurement to system integration and transition to operations. You will be at the forefront of driving innovation as you work closely with a high-energy, experienced international team of quantum computing industry veterans.

Responsibilities

  • Grow and lead TreQ’s quantum engineering team.
  • Develop TreQ’s technical roadmap.
  • Deploy and characterise a range of quantum computing systems that will shape Treq’s product portfolio.
  • Translate customer needs into a variety of system solutions by defining appropriate engineering specifications.
  • Establish supply chain relationships to procure and develop quantum hardware and related components.
  • Engage with TreQ’s business team to align ideas with market opportunities.

You might be a fit if…

you know about:

  • Full stack quantum computing infrastructure, preferably based on superconducting qubits.
  • Cryogenic RF and DC components forming a typical signal chain.
  • RF electronics for controlling and operating quantum systems.
  • Characterising and benchmarking quantum systems.

you’ve had experiences like these:

  • Delivering large collaborative projects within set timelines.
  • Aligning teammates with expertise in areas such as device design and packaging; RF engineering; control electronics; lab infrastructure; software; and HPC-/cloud-integration.
  • Working with dilution refrigerators.
  • Identifying, prioritising, and solving challenges in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.

you like:

  • Operating as part of a global team focused on delivering extraordinary results.
  • Combining your deep technical skills with business and partnership savvy.
  • Transforming possibilities and ideas into tangible actions.
  • Juggling multiple high-priority projects and responsibilities simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in Quantum Engineering, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or Systems Engineering.
  • Quantum computing industry experience (beyond research and academia).

Benefits

TreQ aspires to be the quantum computing company that entrepreneurial people want to work for. We consider ourselves stewards of the brilliant and productive people who choose to invest a portion of their lives with us. In addition to being mission- and values-driven, we compensate top industry talent with competitive salaries, equity participation, and generous benefits.
