Our client is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Tax Accountant to join their dynamic team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to be an integral part of the Tax & Treasury team, working closely with the wider finance team. The successful candidate will have a broad range of responsibilities including tax reporting, assisting with outsourced tax compliance processes, and preparation of VAT and CIS returns.

What you'll do:

As a Tax Accountant in our client's organisation, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the company's financial future. Your primary responsibility will be preparing tax notes for UK statutory accounts, supporting with monthly/quarterly tax bookings, and managing HMRC enquiries. You will also assist in managing the outsourced corporation tax compliance process, prepare and coordinate all CIS and VAT returns. Your role will extend beyond these tasks as you will also work on tax transformation initiatives and support IT and system Finance transformation projects. Building effective relationships with key stakeholders, including external tax advisors, tax authorities and colleagues is crucial for this role.
  • Prepare tax notes for UK statutory accounts
  • Support with the preparation of monthly/quarterly tax bookings
  • Assist in managing the outsourced corporation tax compliance process
  • Prepare and coordinate all CIS and VAT returns
  • Manage HMRC enquiries and review current tax processes to ensure industry accepted best practices are adopted
  • Work on tax transformation initiatives and support IT and system Finance transformation project
  • Build effective relationships with key stakeholders, including external tax advisors, tax authorities and colleagues
What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this Tax Accountant position brings a wealth of knowledge in UK tax legislation, tax accounting, and VAT issues. She possesses strong Excel skills which she uses effectively in her day-to-day tasks. Her excellent interpersonal skills enable her to build strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. She has a keen commercial awareness regarding real estate trends which she applies in her role. She thrives in an open plan and performance culture and brings 1-3 years of post-qualified experience (ACA, CA, CTA, ATT, ACCA or equivalent).
  • Sound knowledge of UK tax legislation, tax accounting and VAT issues
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to build relationships with key stakeholders (internal & external)
  • Commercial and market awareness with specific regard to real estate trends
  • Ability to work within an open plan and performance culture
  • Post qualified experience: 1-3 years (ACA, CA, CTA, ATT, ACCA or equivalent)
