You will be joining a fitout contractor based in Nottingham who specialise in fast track fitout projects across the UK. Due to continued growth, this company are looking to onboard a Jr / Graduate Project Manager to join their team based out of Nottingham. As a trainee construction project manager, your role involves supporting experienced project managers in various aspects of site management. Here are some key responsibilities for a trainee project manager in the construction field:
Assisting Project Managers: You'll work closely with project managers to support daily operations on construction sites. This includes coordinating tasks, managing resources, and ensuring projects stay on track.
Site Management: You'll learn how to oversee construction activities, monitor progress, and ensure that work is carried out efficiently and safely. This involves understanding project plans, schedules, and budgets.
Trainee project managers assist in managing project budgets. You'll learn how to estimate costs, track expenses, and make sure the project stays within budget.
Scheduling and Coordination: You'll help create and manage construction schedules, ensuring that tasks are completed on time. Coordinating with contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers is essential.
Quality Assurance: Trainees learn about quality control processes. You'll help ensure that work meets industry standards and project specifications.
Risk Management: Understanding and mitigating risks is crucial. Trainees assist in identifying potential risks and implementing strategies to minimise them.
You'll learn how to communicate with team members, stakeholders, and clients to keep everyone informed about project progress.
Trainees gain knowledge about safety regulations and practices on construction sites. Documentation and Reporting: You'll assist in maintaining project records, documenting progress, and preparing reports for project managers and stakeholders.
As a trainee, you'll encounter challenges. Experience within construction would be advantageous, but not a necessity as the main focus for this position is someone who is wanting to start their career within construction project management and develop.
