Core Responsibilities:

  • Strategic HR Leadership: Translate vital data into actionable HR strategies that align with business objectives, influencing senior management on optimal courses of action.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting: Interpret people data to provide insights on staff turnover, hiring costs, and other key metrics, informing company-wide decisions.
  • Employee Relations: Provide expert counsel on complex employee issues, ensuring professional management of grievances and disciplinary actions.
  • HR Functionality: Establish clear accountabilities across HR functions, from talent acquisition to compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Recruitment & Remuneration: Craft and implement recruitment strategies, participate in senior-level interviews, and guide salary decisions based on external benchmarks.
  • Policy Development: Regularly update HR policies, procedures, and guidelines to reflect best practices and organisational values.
  • Performance Management: Foster a culture of high performance, continuously seeking ways to enhance productivity and employee development.
  • Budget Management: Oversee the HR budget, forecasting staffing costs and spearheading cost-effective initiatives.
  • Project Leadership: Take the helm on special projects, steering strategy and execution while securing support from the board.
  • Change Management: Act as a change agent, securing buy-in for organisational changes and ensuring legal compliance in all HR activities.
  • Board Interaction: Engage with the board, offering constructive challenges in a pragmatic light to facilitate solutions.
  • Communication: Skilfully deliver difficult news, framing challenges in a pragmatic light to facilitate solutions.
  • Innovative Leadership: Regularly assess and boldly refine HR department responsibilities to keep pace with organisational needs.
You must have:
  • Proven experience within a Senior HR role with a history of building department credibility.
  • A Bachelor's degree is minimum; Master's degree in a business administration, human resources management, industrial relations, or even a law degree is desirable.
  • CIPD qualified with evidence of continuous professional development.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills with a strategic mindset.
  • Experience in leading teams and acting as a role model.
  • Commercial acumen with an understanding of company finances.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of employment law and its application.
  • Experience in managing redundancy and TUPE situations.
  • Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to deliver difficult messages positively.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise effectively.
  • Adaptability and enthusiasm for constant change.
