About the role
As Accounts Payable Supervisor you will be responsible for:
  • Day to day line-management of a team of 3, including compliance to mandatory and statutory training and capability management.
  • Taking accountability of the weekly payment run processes by CHAPS and BACS, with cheque payments made where necessary.
  • Manage the monthly financial close-down processes, ensuring the AP ledger reconciles with the General Ledger.
  • Management of new supplier setup and master files.
  • Resolution of supplier queries and reconciling to the general ledger.
  • Negotiating with suppliers to gain improved terms of trading.
  • Responsible for continuous process review and improvement within the team

About the rewards
As an Accounts Payable Supervisor, you will receive a salary of up to £35,000 per annum, depending on experience plus:

Study support could be offered to the successful candidate who demonstrates the desire to enhance their knowledge.

About you
To be successful for the role of Accounts Payable Supervisor, you must have / be:
  • An enthusiastic, proactive team player with a ‘can do’ attitude
  • Curious and passionate about suggesting process improvement.
  • Confident communicating with business partners at all levels
  • Able to influence to help make key decisions
  • An understanding of double-entry book-keeping, accounts payable, including invoice processing
  • Accounts Receivable and Credit Analysis experience
  • Knowledge of VAT on UK and foreign stock purchases
  • An experienced user of JD Edwards or equivalent ERP system
  • Confident user of MS Office with advanced Excel skills
