Structural Design Engineer

Hays is working in partnership with a multidisciplinary consulting engineering practice that has been delivering expert advice to clients in all sectors of the economy for over 35 years. They are looking to hire a Structural Design Engineer to be based in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
With a focus on multidisciplinary collaboration, the team of civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, sustainability, public health, environmental engineers, and ecologists have delivered over 11,000 projects in 15 countries. They are committed to delivering exceptional quality and providing friendly consulting engineering advice that is best in class. Our client is expanding its team and is currently seeking a Structural Design Engineer for its Belfast office.
Warranting that the contractor carries out all obligations
Attending meetings with architects and contractors
Designing and specifying elements for major projects.
As a Structural Design Engineer, you will need to have a recognised qualification in Structural Engineering or equivalent, with 3-5+ years of structural design experience in the NI/UK & Irish construction market working on buildings and be a member of an appropriate professional institution.
It is ideal if you have a master’s degree in Structural Engineering or equivalent or are Chartered or approaching Chartered Engineer status.
You must have strong analytical knowledge and understanding of engineering principles, and experience of undertaking steel and concrete design to NI/UK & Eurocodes, NI/UK & Irish Building Regulations, Codes of Practice, and Technical Standards.
Our client is looking for candidates with strong engineering design experience, particularly in using software such as Tekla Structural Designer, TEDDS, SCIA/ROBOT, AutoCAD, and Revit.
In addition to technical skills, it is essential that you have good planning, organisation, interpersonal, and communication skills, as well as a ‘can-do’ attitude with a commitment to excellent customer service.
