WHAT TO EXPECT

We are actively in pursuit of an accomplished EDU Performance & Efficiency Computational Methods Lead, poised to play a pivotal role in advancing our Electric Drive Unit realm.

You will be at the forefront EDU Systems technology. Your mission? To understand, analyse and condense, Engineering data of the EDU consisting of multiple interconnected components and assess that against analysis requirements.

You will be responsible to analysis system level performance and efficiency of the EDU is a key capability to ensure we deliver the best possible in house manufactured Electric Drive Units for our next generation JLR vehicles.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • System Analysis - Analysing EDU system performance, converting non-geometric data (NGD) from EDU subsystems and a variety of use cases into a complete EDU performance assessment overview reports
  • Test vs Prediction Analysis - Analysing simulation predictions versus test results and supporting clarification of any discrepancies
  • Loss Modelling Tools - Developing tools and scripts for processing NGD into performance reports and tuning of loss mechanism models to real world data
  • Design Automation Tools - Support development of automation computer aided engineering (CAE) routines for future generation EDU development studies
  • Communicating the study findings in a clear manner to the EDU Performance & Efficiency Technical Specialist and/or internal customers/stakeholders
  • Document analysis approach and tool development

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Good relevant experience of working in a Systems Engineering environment - ideally within the Automotive Sector
  • Good relevant knowledge of e-machine/inverters/transmission/EDU systems
  • Coding skills, MATLAB/Simulink and Python or similar with ability to learn quickly
  • Good verbal and written communications
  • Analytical and problem solving skills
  • Track record as an effective team player with strong interpersonal skills
  • Understanding of relevant EDU CEA tools and in particular their outputs, e.g. Motor-CAD, Romax, Simulink
  • Experience in simulation and test data comparison
  • Experience in applying Systems Engineering and in solving complex technical issues using a structured approach
  • Problem solver mindset with a sense of ownership
