The Assistant Management Accountant will provide essential day-to-day accounting support to more senior team members, such as preparing financial statements and accounts, managing ledger, processing invoices and VAT returns.
This individual will be responsible in ensuring that their activities align with Group policy in order to achieve targets, meet monthly, quarterly and annual reporting deadlines, assist with the development of the business and deliver an excellent and comprehensive service.
This is a training role where you will be encouraged to develop your technical knowledge as you progress with studies whilst gaining practical experience of accounting. During the development you will build an awareness of FCA regulations as they pertain to insurance intermediaries and technical knowledge of financial reporting under UK standards.
(This role is currently in Bedford, however the office will be moving to Milton Keynes at the end of this year. 3 days a week in the office)
Production of monthly management accounting and reporting information to a strict timetable for business units within the Group.
Preparation of balance sheet account reconciliations, including investigation and resolution of identified issues/concerns.
Preparing and posting journal entries into the general ledger system and reporting system including intercompany and recurring charges.
Preparing sales ledger invoices
Ad-hoc management reporting and financial analysis.
Responds appropriately to urgent issues as they arise
Works closely with senior team, providing technical support where appropriate
Flexible and able to quickly adapt to change
Studying towards a professional qualification with a recognised body (ACCA/CIMA etc.) or university graduate who studied accounting / finance.
