Working on behalf of a Local Authority, Aatom Recruitment has a new opportunity for a Performance and Insight Lead on a 3 months contract with a possibility of further extension.

Main responsibilities:

This role is key in promoting and embedding a culture of innovation, continuous improvement and enterprise that challenges existing practice and develops new, more effective means of improving service outcomes.

To apply advanced analytical techniques (statistical, scenario modelling and forecasting) to:

  • assess opportunities for change and evidence for performance improvement
  • ensure that Housing and Commercial Partnerships Department have a clear and succinct understanding of KPIs
  • review existing reports to ensure they are fit for purpose and take the necessary action to develop regular reports for a variety of audiences, including elected members and senior managers on the performance and effectiveness of Housing and Commercial Partnership
  • contribute to effective analysis, demographics, outcomes for tenants and leaseholders, performance, demand, value for money, and customers
  • assist in optimising internal business processes, spotting addressable problems and identifying trends
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to: promote data literacy and self-service of data products service wide to improve data quality and the end user experience; gather data requirements to ensure services record activity and outcomes so data products are fit for purpose o source appropriate data to support the implementation, monitoring and review of key strategies and plans
  • To provide and review comparative information to contextualise the client’s performance with national and other Local Authority’s performance
  • Use appropriate visualisation software to present complex information and statistical returns so that they engage the relevant audience and lead to improved practice and decision making
  • Maintain and query databases using SPSS, Excel, Power BI or SQL as appropriate to match and interrogate large datasets

Requirements:

  • Evidenced excellent technical skills with an emphasis on analytical, statistical and modelling techniques, allied with the ability to interrogate large databases efficiently, e.g. SQL, BOXI, SPSS.
  • Experience of designing, developing and maintaining a range of linked data retrieval and monitoring systems
  • Experience of designing, implementing and completing ad-hoc research projects
  • Proficiency in full Office 365 suite of software
  • Advanced Excel (Formulas, Power Pivot, Power Query)
  • Knowledge of SQL queries
  • Use of data visualization software (Power BI or similar)
  • Domain knowledge of Housing Services
