Due to an exciting expansion and growth within our Education team at HMYOI Parc, we have an opportunity for a Design Technology & Construction Instructor for the Young Persons unit to join us and help our learners develop their potential. This role is offered on a permanent full-time basis working 40 hours per week

In this role, you will work and be supported by our amazing team of dedicated professionals to mentor our learners to develop their practical skills which will, in turn, help them to secure employment opportunities post-release. Working in a prison is different to a mainstream education facility.

To aid this you also will be supported by Learning Support Practitioners who will support with one to one when required. Our security team are on hand to ensure the lessons run smoothly. Time will be given to planning and your local education manager is always on hand to provide support as and when needed.

Delivery happens between Monday and Friday and weekends are strictly for rest and relaxation.

To be successful in the role of Vocational Design Technology & Construction Instructor, you will need:

Multi-Skills construction service experience.
Flexible approach to working in a fast-paced environment.
Have at least 2 years of experience working as a construction professional.
Construction related qualifications in subject area and history of onsite work.
ET01 / PTLLS / EAT Level 3 is desirable or willingness to work towards.
Willing to gain an Award in Education within 6 months.
Good organisational and planning skills.
