Foodbank Signposter

As a food bank signposting volunteer you will be able to support clients further by finding avenues of support that you can signpost clients to. You will be able to speak with the client to find out about what crisis they are currently going through, also offering prayer if the client wishes to do so. In this role you can make a real difference to people’s lives providing vital help and support to those in crisis in your local community.

What you will be doing

o Welcome clients to the food bank centre

o Also supporting with the role as a food bank centre helper where necessary

o Receive vouchers and check the validity of them

o Work under the guidance of the session leader and report any health and safety of safeguarding concerns to the project manager/session supervisor

o Referring clients to other organisations or agencies that they may find benefit of

o Provide a non-judgemental, listening ear for clients and pray with them if you feel comfortable to do so

o Strong team player

o The ability to have confidentiality with personal details about clients
