We require a Carbon Performance Lead to deliver impactful carbon awareness and performance to reduce carbon emissions across the Environment Agency’s flood and coastal risk management schemes.   This role sits in Projects & Programme Delivery (PPD) and is a prominent leadership position within our integrated project teams. They will also identify specific carbon reduction actions annually, and subsequently coordinate multiple technical specialists and project managers to ensure the delivery of such actions. The role holder will also require strong commercial awareness and manage a financial budget to deliver the above tasks. You will be required to have an incident role and make yourself available to respond to incidents or provide business continuity support during an incident. This may attract an additional payment and full training and alternative working arrangements will be available to support you with your incident role. We are the North-West PPD Team and are part of the wider Northern Hub. We are led by a Delivery Manager overseeing approximately 75 staff and are supported by Programme Specialists, Programme Managers and Project Team Managers (PTM). Each PTM manages Project Executives, Project Managers and Project Support Officers who manage the delivery of projects within our flood & coastal erosion risk management programme using our framework suppliers. Experience influencing senior leaders & project teams to adopt more sustainable practices. Experience in sustainability & carbon management in project delivery. Experience in a project and contract management, ideally within engineering, construction or flood & coastal risk management. Experience as a senior project manager across a range of projects. Experience of delivering results on technically challenging projects through coordination of a technical team.
