Segment Controllers work closely with the Business Teams such as Pricing, Client Managers, and Risk Management as well as colleagues within Finance such as LFO, Tax, and other Controllership teams. Transactions covered are mostly merchant acquiring deals including new product offerings and other arrangements that impact the Merchant Services Business in EMEA and APAC regions. This role will serve as the point of contact for various Business Partners, providing accounting advisory services and thought leadership for a range of transactions.
Knowledge of US GAAP accounting standards, financial processes, controls, and overall business acumen will be key success factors.
Support all business partner initiatives and projects assessing for financial accounting and operational implications.
Provide accounting advice on agreement structures that will achieve business and control objectives, while ensuring broad compliance with accounting standards.
Ensure that accounting conclusions are properly analysed and discussed, applied consistently, and documented properly through the preparation of accounting memorandums.
Overall Controller oversight of financials reports, including support of quarterly balance sheet review and reporting process, external reporting implications, and other balance sheet governance projects.
Assist, and at times manage, special projects, including preparation of board presentations, development of training, coordination of group meetings and other initiatives as required.
Significant cumulative accounting / business experience
Accounting/Finance qualification preferred.
University degree or equivalent experience required preferably in Accounting/Finance
Proven US GAAP or IFRS technical accounting knowledge
The ability to develop optimal and compliant solutions to accounting and financial objectives and articulate accounting concepts to a variety of audiences, many with minimal accounting knowledge.
Must be strong at multi-tasking, collaborating across functional areas and providing solutions to business/accounting challenges.
