Prospero Group is currently looking for experienced Teachers/Tutors to deliver tuition on a 1:1 basis to young people who are currently without a school placement within the Basildon areas.
As an experienced Tutor, you must be able to create, plan, and deliver 1:1 tailored lessons to bridge gaps in pupil's education and boost attainment levels. Most of these pupils will have been out of education for some time, so their confidence levels may be very low. We work with you closely to monitor the progression of each pupil by asking you to submit weekly reports, focusing on the highs and lows of the week and what subject areas were focused on. The students that require support are often SEN pupils with EHCP's, tuition often takes place at home and will be in within the following areas all around Basildon. A strong background in supporting SEN pupils with autism, SEMH, and complex needs would be essential for this role.
Contract/Position Details:
Location - Within the community or pupils' home within Basildon areas
Type of work - Contract
Duration - Until the pupil can reintegrate into a new school placement
Experience, Training and Qualifications of the 1:1 Tutor:
QTS or equivalent
Possess UK classroom teaching experience
Be creative, patient and willing to think outside of the box
Have experience working with SEND or disengaged pupils
To be eligible for this role, the potential 1:1 Outreach Tutor must:
Hold an enhanced child-barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
Provide two professional child-related references.
