We have an exciting opportunity for aGeneral Practitionerto join ourPrimary Careteam atHMP Whatton, a category CPrison located inNottinghamshire.

Our General Practitioners are extremely valued and are well respected members of the Prison Healthcare community. We deliver first class healthcare to a diverse group of patients and therefore as a General Practitioner at Practice Plus Group you get the opportunity to further develop your knowledge in areas you wouldn’t usually experience within a practice, or even A&E environment.

The site currently offers aflexible working pattern.

This position isfull time,you’ll receive an annual salary up to £130,000per annum - depending on experience.

We recognise training and development is key, therefore we provide a training portal to facilitate your needs as well as have an in-depth induction for all staff whether you have experience of working in prisons or not. You will gain insight into Mental Health and Substance Misuse, as well as access to a variety of training opportunities with the opportunity to work towards your RCGP level 2 and other qualifications should you wish.

As aGeneral Practitioner, your responsibilities will vary. You will

  • You will provide clinical assessment and diagnosis to patient’s requirements and make timely decisions regarding future management
  • You will also provide a highly specialist resource to other members of the healthcare team at site, as well as the patients you work with having active involvement in clinical governance and effectiveness activities.
  • promote safe patient care
  • develop and apply new skills to maintain and enhance clinical service delivery.
