Our client based in a rural location on the West side of Shrewsbury is recruiting for a Payroll Manager on a permanent contract. This is a standalone role, reporting into the Finance Director. The role is crucial to ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for all employees.
Process end-to-end monthly payroll for employees
Ensure compliance with payroll regulations and company policies
Calculate and process statutory deductions, including PAYE, National Insurance, and pension contributions
Upload payments to the bank account each month once payroll is finalised
Ensure compliance with UK payroll legislation, tax laws and regulations
Process employee benefits, including pension contributions, salary sacrifice car scheme, bike to work, employee loans and other benefits
Respond to employee enquiries regarding payroll matters
Investigate and resolve any payroll discrepancies or issues
Generate and analyse payroll reports for Management KPI information
Complete payroll year end transactions and assist in the audit process
Provide relevant payroll information for financial reporting purposes
The successful candidate will need to have proven experience of working in a similar role and have knowledge of UK payroll regulations and taxation. You will need to be a confident user of Microsoft Excel and previous experience of using Sage Payroll would be an advantage but not essential.
