Consultant - Microbiologist

The Clinical Microbiology Department at Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust (PHU) is looking to appoint a Consultant Microbiologist. This is a full-time post consisting of 10 Programmed Activities [PAs] per week, based at Queen Alexandra Hospital. Our Microbiology Laboratory is well equipped and is on-site in a purpose-built pathology block with an extensive range of diagnostic services, including molecular; the lab is UKAS accredited. The microbiology clinical team includes a clinical scientist, a trainee clinical scientist, ID/micro Wessex trainees and an FY2 trainee on rotation.
The medical team are a small, yet very supportive and friendly collaborative group that work together for the benefit of patients within the Trust, the surrounding community and with colleagues on the Isle of Wight.
