The global expert in gas analysis, Servomex , part of the FTSE 250 Spectris Group is excited to be searching for a talented Global Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) Manager to join our team.

The Global FP&A Manager will take ownership of all FP&A reporting processes, play a pivotal role in quarterly, annual and strategic planning cycles and provide insightful analysis through the year which will support and influence business decision making. The successful candidate will be expected to drive change in an evolving finance function , as well as support the Finance Director in explaining the financials and the story behind the financials to Servomex’s Executive Leadership Team and our parent company, Spectris plc.

About the Opportunity:

  • Lead the development and implementation of financial planning processes, primarily budgeting and quarterly forecasting. Ensure that forecasting requirements are consistent with Spectris’ requirements and delivered / completed to strict deadlines.
  • Analyse financial performance, identify trends, and provide recommendations to optimise profitability and efficiency.
  • Team leadership and support.
  • Prepare and present monthly and quarterly reports to senior leadership, highlighting key insights and actionable recommendations.
  • Prepare comprehensive financial models to support strategic initiatives and evaluate potential business opportunities.
  • Develop dashboards and data visualisations to effectively communicate financial information and performance metrics. Ensure the timely and accurate reporting of key financial and operational performance metrics.
  • Contribute to the development of company strategy across all areas of the business, challenging assumptions and decision-making as appropriate and, providing financial analysis and guidance on activities, plans, targets and business drivers.
  • Provide strong leadership and direction to finance personnel ensuring a team-based culture, where people are well-trained and motivated and that resources are deployed effectively to meet the business needs. Delivering excellent internal customer satisfaction levels.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities and stakeholders across the business, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment is critical.
  • Possesses a continuous improvement mindset with the flexibility to adapt to change and experience with lean tools / lean philosophies. This role will be critical to implementation of a forecasting system to drive efficiency in forecasting & budgeting process.

About your Talent:

Essential Experience and Skills:

  • A proven track record of operating in a FP&A Manager role undertaking forecasting, financial planning and detailed variance analysis.
  • Experience working in a multi-site / global organisation and proficiency in financial systems such as SAP and other consolidation / analytical tools.
  • Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Excel including modelling skills.
  • Ability to present complex data in a clear, engaging, and succinct manner to C Suite stakeholders is essential as well as being able to present visual analysis to the wider organisation.
  • Strong analytical skills and excellent attention to detail.
  • Desire and ability to build collaborative partnerships and influence stakeholders across the business.
  • Confidence and ability to challenge stakeholders and provide commercial insight and also identify the value in information provided.

Desirable Experience and Skills:

  • Experience of working within the manufacturing sector.
  • Knowledge and experience in implementing new systems.
  • Awareness and understanding of lean and continuous improvement concepts.

Essential Qualifications and Education:

  • Solid academic background including Qualified Accountant (ACA, CIMA or equivalent) qualification

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Lean Six Sigma Green / Black belt qualification/ Practitioner
