Role Description The Finance Analyst is responsible for maintaining accounting systems and processes, and controlling the master data of the general ledger. You will provide support to the Finance Manager in the provision of accurate and timely reporting and controls to meet external requirements and internal objectives.To be successful as a Finance Analyst, you should possess a stable working track record, good oral and written communication skills, and be knowledgeable in the broad spectrum of accountancy accounting practices.

Key accountabilities
  • Managing and Completion of monthly accounting process to tight timelines.
  • Preparation of reconciliation for review by Finance Manager.
  • Maintain and develop accounting systems and processes.
  • Control the master data of the general register.
  • Provide ongoing accounting and reporting support in line with IFRS17.
  • Deal with Internal/External audit request
  • Renegotiates deadlines as necessary and manages expectations accordingly
Skills and Experience
  • Ability to apply analysis skills, management accounting and financial management techniques to help inform business decision-making.
  • Good analysis skills and knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong organisation skill and the ability to meet tight reporting milestones.
  • Deliver added value to resolution of complex task and issues on time and accurately;
  • Communicates with relevant stakeholders in a clear and consistent manner.
  • Demonstrates understanding of which stakeholders may be impacted dependent upon the nature of the issue.
  • Identifies credible opportunities to improve efficiency and/or effectiveness of processes owned by self and processes which link into own processes but are owned by others.
  • Draws insightful commentary and conclusions from analysis.
  • Previous experience working in an accounting/finance role.
  • Understands link between own team and other areas of Finance and the wider business; and Strong Excel skills and comfortable with Word/PowerPoint with understanding of accounting systems
Qualifications
  • 2:1 degree or higher (Maths, Science or Finance-related preferred). Or
  • Part Qualified Accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA).
