An opportunity has arisen with one of our partnered clients. We are looking for a seasoned Senior Quantity Surveyor at a Civil Engineering construction firm in Southeast England. This pivotal role centres on the commercial management of a diverse portfolio of new projects in the Rail, Civils, and Buildings sectors. The Senior Quantity Surveyor will be instrumental in steering the financial aspects of construction projects from inception to completion. This encompasses budget formulation, cost forecasting, procurement strategies, variation management, and overseeing contract agreements. Essential Duties: Spearhead the formulation and upkeep of project financial plans, ensuring stringent cost control measures. Analyse and provide insights on project timelines, contributing to precise financial forecasting. Manage the compilation, assessment, and submission of periodic financial claims to clients. Conduct evaluations and negotiations of proposals and agreements with vendors and subcontractors. Oversee the assessment and adjustment of project variations, valuations, and the settlement of accounts with clients and vendors. Engage with project teams to deliver expert cost analysis and project viability evaluations. Perform regular site assessments to monitor project advancement and adherence to technical specifications and regulatory standards. Generate and present detailed progress and financial reports, along with other necessary documentation. Identify, assess, and manage potential risks and opportunities within the project scope. Maintain proactive communication with clients and establish a consistent dialogue with commercial counterparts.The ideal candidate will possess: A Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline. 8-10 years' robust experience as a Quantity Surveyor, preferably within the construction / infrastructure fields. Prior exposure to the Rail industry, with a focus on building refurbishments and general civil engineering works. Outstanding communicative and negotiation skills. A comprehensive understanding of construction-related contracts, regulatory frameworks, and legal stipulations.
