We are now looking for a Head of Finance to join the team in Clerkenwell/Farringdon to work side by side with our CEO and the senior leaders.

We are a venture-backed team that's raised over $50m from world class investors like Notion, Greycroft and Acrew. The company is small enough for your ideas to be recognised, but big enough to make them a reality.

We are looking for an exceptional candidate to run our finance/accounting & FP&A capabilities and contribute to our wider company strategy and future.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the finance team lead at Stable working directly with the leadership and other internal and external stakeholders.
  • Report directly to the CEO for fast decisions and good communications
  • Lead financial planning and analysis, business metrics tracking, and goal reviews with leadership.
  • Own the organisational and department P&Ls for Stable.
  • Own relationship with finance and accounting third-party vendors ensuring timely and smooth month, quarter, and year-end closes, as well as quarterly and yearly tax reporting requirements
  • Manage our Auditor relationships
  • Manage cash flow planning process and asset management.
  • Improve and simplify processes, drive standardisation and reduce risk through comprehensive controls, and build scalable systems to support business growth.
  • Gather, review, and communicate fact-based insights into variances and trends with a rev ops mindset
  • Lead cross-functional finance projects partnering with Sales, Operations, Product, and Marketing.
  • Oversee accurate and timely financial reporting to stakeholders, including investors and the board of directors.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and tax laws.
  • Implement or improve internal controls and risk management practices.
  • Lead the budgeting process and update financial forecasts monthly to reflect changing business dynamics and market conditions.
  • Monitor financial performance against key metrics (e.g., EBITDA, gross margins, burn rate) and adjust strategies to stay on target.
  • Build and lead the finance team, ensuring the right talent is in place to scale with the business.

Qualifications

  • Chartered Accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) qualification or equivalent.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field is essential from a notable university
  • A Master’s degree (e.g., MBA or MSc in Finance) is preferred for this role

Experience

  • Venture-backed or start-up experience: Candidates are expected to have experience managing finances in a high-growth, venture-funded business, particularly at the Series A or B stage and beyond.
  • Experience with scaling businesses, navigating fundraising rounds, and managing burn rates is critical.
  • Leadership Experience: At least 5 years of experience in senior finance roles, with a proven track record of leading finance teams.
  • Investor Relations: Direct experience in working with investors, venture capital/private equity firms, including managing relationships and preparing financial presentations
  • International Experience: Our operations span the UK and the US so experience in a US focused business is expected
  • Experience in B2B fintech or SaaS industries would be highly beneficial
