£This is an exciting strategic purchasing / senior buyer role that requires an experienced procurement professional that can work effectively within a fast paced, high-pressure environment.

You will be part of an international procurement and supply chain team within a global engineering and manufacturing business. As Senior Buyer / Procurement Specialist you will be involved in strategic procurement including purchasing and supply chain activities in support of your commodities and services for the group. It is a strategic role that will require supporting strategic procurement and supply chain projects. You will need strong negotiation skills, excellent commercial acumen and experience of purchasing across international markets.

A keen sense of commercial acumen is imperative, enabling you to make informed decisions that will positively impact the business.

Required: Senior Buyer / Procurement Specialist
Previous experience as a buyer / procurement professional working within a fast-paced international organisation.
Professional procurement / supply chain qualifications and accreditations.
Strong communication skills, resilient, well organised and able to work effectively, autonomously and confidently within a multiskilled team environment.
Understanding of engineering / manufacturing operations (e.g. automotive) would be useful but other sectors (e.g. retail, FMCG, Food and Beverage etc) would be considered – process knowledge is valued more than direct materials knowledge.
Evidence of having supported / influenced strategic procurement projects with clear and defined outcomes and achievements.
This strategic Buyer / Procurement Specialist position is based onsite and is commutable from Rocester, Stoke on Trent, Derby, Nottingham, Birmingham, Uttoxeter, Stafford, and Burton. Hybrid / remote working is not on offer.
