Role Overview: The Web Development Team Lead plays a critical role in ensuring the success of our technical initiatives by leading our web development team, fostering a culture of excellence, and driving continuous improvement in our development processes. This position involves mentoring and guiding team members, contributing to technical planning, enhancing technical documentation, and championing best practices to elevate the quality of our web solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Leadership and Team Management:

  • Lead the web development team, conducting regular one-to-one meetings, and quarterly performance reviews to provide feedback and support team members' professional growth.
  • Mentor the team to uphold the highest coding standards and foster a culture of excellence and collaboration.

2. Technical Planning and Architecture:

  • Assist in technical planning to ensure that our web platforms are well-architected, scalable, and aligned with business objectives.
  • Contribute to the development of new features, providing technical guidance and insights to drive innovation and efficiency.

3. Process Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities to improve technical processes such as deployment, automated testing, and code review workflows to enhance team productivity and code quality.
  • Implement measures to streamline workflows.

4. Documentation and Communication:

  • Increase the overall quality of technical documentation, ensuring that it is comprehensive, accurate, and accessible to team members and stakeholders.
  • Express technical concepts in a clear and digestible manner to a variety of audiences, facilitating better understanding and collaboration across teams.

5. Contribution to Feature Development:

  • Actively participate in the development of new features, leveraging your technical expertise to contribute to the design, implementation, and testing phases.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 6 years of experience in web development, with demonstrated leadership and team management skills.
  • Expertise in web technologies, frameworks, and databases, with a specialization in PHP, MySQL/MariaDB, and JavaScript. Knowledge of ElasticSearch would be highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of software architecture principles, design patterns, and best practices.
  • Experience with technical planning, including the ability to architect scalable and maintainable web platforms.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proven track record of driving process improvements and delivering high-quality web solutions on time and within budget.
