The main function of this role is to lead the product development Bakery team, ensuring perfect execution of new product delivery. On Offer £50,000 Relocation package or Accomadation available Location: Aberdeenshire (Minimum 3 days on site). 37.5 per week Pension: 5% (Employee) / 6% (Employer). Profit-related pay: Max 6 weeks. Management bonus: Max 6 weeks. 32 days annual leave Life assurance: x 3 annual salary. Private Healthcare Duties: The Business Partner to the Commercial Bakery lead and to the manufacturing sites for all agreed projects that he/she supports. Responsible for OTIF delivery of the bakery product development plan, in line with the commercial deliverables and operational capabilities, and agreed resource allocations. Lead a team of product developers using clear performance management protocols, creating an environment of creative working, positive performance and positive accountability. Train, upskill team in bakery and ingredient expertise and define key technical challenges to be overcome to meet current and future business needs, identifying and delivering key Simply Clever points of product differentiation. Create a world class bakery development facility to enable concepts to be translated into commercially viable products, scaled flawlessly, with approved specifications for ingredients, products and processes and all manufacturing protocols adhered to. Ensure completion of development and commercialization success criteria in execution of project work using accepted documentation and work processes. Experienced technical leader, with proven ability to anticipate and overcome technical challenges and in identifying and managing technical risk with sound technical decision making. Experience Needed: Excellent knowledge of the FMCG / Food manufacturing industry and product development technologies. Knowledge of the baking industry essential. Proven delivery of complex, technically challenging food and/or packaging development projects involving cross functional teams and proactive risk management. Collaborative working with purchasing, operations, quality, marketing and commercial teams Bakery expertise & proven ability to use consumer and technical insight to define & craft winning attributes into design. Good understanding of ingredient functionality. Awareness of competitor products, consumer trends, supplier capability and IP protection. Good general supply chain and commercial understanding Knowledge of sustainable packaging and ingredient technology solutions. QUALIFICATIONS: Qualified baker or educated to degree level - Science degree, in Food Processing/ Food Science/ Food Technology, Chemistry or Biochemistry would be an advantage.
