Michael Smith Engineers Limited is a specialist pump distributor serving the chemical, hygienic, and manufacturing industries in the United Kingdom and Ireland. The key responsibilities of the role are to assist with general workshop duties, as listed below, to help the company achieve on-time delivery and provide exceptional customer service.

Order picking and preparation
Packing and despatch
General workshop and office maintenance

Following additional training:

Forklift operation
Pump assembly and testing
Assembly of production order pump sets
Picking and storing pumps and accessories
Stock and inventory control
Pump assembly
Pressure testing of pumps
Inspection of pumps

GCSEs (or equivalent) Grade C or above in Mathematics and English (desirable)
Experience in a warehouse or similar environment, basic engineering skills, and familiarity with using tools and equipment
The role involves assisting with day-to-day tasks, including building pumps, booking in parts, carrying out repairs, and despatching goods. Initial in-house training will be provided, with further training opportunities available with our principal pump suppliers.
