As part of DCC’s procurement transformation, we are looking for a Procurement Specialist who will deliver a category led buying approach from with a focus on tactical buying. The role reports into a Senior Procurement Manager. The role of Procurement Specialist will suit a Junior Buyer or Buyer with experience in the IT, Telecoms, Energy or Professional Services industries. What will you be doing?

· Manage, lead, and deliver sourcing activity, (£100k-£5m) to assigned projects and categories utilising established negotiation, benchmarking, strategic sourcing techniques & sustainability policies

· Optimise sourcing activity by exploiting technology (iValua), and ensure compliance to process, creating a robust audit trail

· Working with DCC Directors and Executives to set and implement, sourcing and procurement for all assigned procurement projects

· Providing advice and procurement expertise on sourcing models to meet the different needs of the business – setting up catalogue, auctions, and procurements and contracts as part of the £1bn / 10-year Category plan

· Providing sourcing expertise on one of the following areas: - Telecoms, Technology and IT, Security, Outsourcing, Innovation and Professional Services

What are we looking for?

· Manage and deliver sourcing activity to assigned projects and categories utilising established negotiation, benchmarking & strategic sourcing techniques & sustainability policies that aligns with the Net Zero aims of the UK Government

· Creation and implementation of supplier contracts, incorporating key commercial and contractual requirements

· Significant Sourcing experience with a demonstrable track record of savings delivery

· Strong written and verbal communication.

· Able to communicate effectively with junior and senior stakeholders

· Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

· Ability to influence stakeholders in a complex environment
