Opportunity for Automation Engineer

Do you want to be part of an industry that is striving to protect our planet from further damage? We currently have an opportunity for an Automation Engineer at Siemens Gamesa. In this role, you will be working with the introduction of new equipment and improvement of existing equipment within wind turbine and blade manufacturing.

Some of your key tasks will include but not be limited to:

  1. Developing solutions for process-based equipment in blade manufacturing
  2. Creating and reviewing specifications for new equipment
  3. Factory/Site acceptance, commissioning, and implementation of new equipment
  4. Upgrading existing equipment for safe and optimal performance
  5. Interrogating equipment issues in electrical equipment, drive technologies, and PLCs
  6. Programming & Commissioning of Control Systems / PLCs
  7. Supporting fault finding and fault prevention
  8. Collaborating with global teams and internal departments
  9. Anticipating issues with implementation and providing timely feedback
  10. Developing people and working as part of a team
Requirements to Make a Difference

Passion for renewable energy and a sense for the importance to lead the change. We are also looking for individuals with:

  • Focus on health and safety
  • Degree qualified in Automation/Electrical engineering or HNC with significant experience
  • Advanced Knowledge of Siemens PLC’s and automation systems
  • Strong knowledge in MS Office Suite, including Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience in working in production environments
  • Good team player with excellent communication skills
