Are you a skilled technician passionate about cell culture and lab ops? We are currently seeking a Cell Culture Research Associate to join a dynamic biotech in Cambridge who are pioneering the next generation of genetic nanomedicines. This role is crucial for maintaining various cell lines and supporting the smooth functioning of their lab operations.

Role Overview

The Research Associate will be responsible for the daily management of cell cultures and will support broader lab activities. This position is designed to complement the efforts of their scientists by taking on more general lab duties, allowing them to focus on the scientific development of cell cultures.

What You’ll Do

  • Cell Maintenance: Carry out extensive cell culture activities including maintaining cell lines in logarithmic growth, tracking passage numbers, and managing freezing/thawing of stocks.
  • Routine Lab Tasks: Perform common cell-based assays like flow cytometry, ELISA, viability, stability, and mycoplasma testing.
  • Lab Support: Assist with ordering and managing lab supplies and reagents, maintain lab cleanliness, and organize lab resources.
  • Collaborative Support: Work closely with research associates to facilitate cell culture tasks and contribute to the team's scientific initiatives.

Do you have a proven track record in cell culture within an industry setting? Are you meticulous with a strong ability to follow detailed standard operating procedures (SOPs)?

Desired Qualifications and Experience

  • Cell Culture Experience: Hands-on experience in cell culture, ideally from a cell line development or cell supply lab in industry.
  • Technical Proficiency: Experience with primary cells, iPSCs, and various assays like flow cytometry and ELISA.
  • Detail-Oriented: Strong attention to detail with the ability to meticulously follow SOPs and use electronic lab notebooks.
  • Adaptability: Ability to perform both routine and complex lab operations while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

Job Requirements

This position requires a hands-on approach and a flexible attitude towards daily tasks and responsibilities. Experience in a fast-paced biotech environment is preferred.
