Anexciting opportunity has arisen to recruit a suitably experienced and motivatedManagement Accountant to join our successful team within the finance functionat County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust.
The post is a permanentpost, reporting to and supporting the Senior Management Accountant and theAssociate Care Group Accountant.
Itwill be based on site for the majority of the week with the potential for aportion of the week to be worked away from the office.
Thesuccessful applicant will work within a smaller team of 5 people, providingcomprehensive financial management and business advice service to Clinical CareGroup encompassing:
Financial advice and support
We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield and Weardale as well as over 80 other community based settings and providing care in patients' homes.

Significant experience in Microsoft Excel anda good understanding of general ledger accounting software would be anadvantage.
Inaddition, we operate an agile working policy, whereby the team are based onsite for a proportion of the week and have the option to work at home, wherepreferred, for the rest of the week, on a rota basis.
The department also work toa flexible working policy, enabling flexible start and finish times andcreating the ability to take back time owed.
Thetrust also supports anyone wishing to study towards a professionalqualification, including financial and study leave support. This role ispositioned within the team structure to enable excellent developmental andcareer progression opportunities.

Demonstrates a track record of academic achievement or has experience of working within a finance function.
Experience of working within a NHS finance function.
Studying towards a professional accountancy qualification
The ability to provide and receive complex financial information to/from financial and non-financial staff orally, in writing or electronically in a professional manner.
Good computer skills with experience of the Microsoft Office particularly Excel and Word.
The ability to input into and interrogate the Finance General Ledger to obtain standard and ad hoc reports.
Ability to work to all routine and ad hoc deadlines.
Ability to identify and act to remedy circumstances that mean a deadline is at risk.
Able to provide training, advise and review the work of more junior team members.
Has an appreciation of the NHS finance regime
Experience of Oracle Finance Ledger system
Experience within the finance function

Experience of working within NHS finance

Flexible and responsive.
Ability to continuously reassess and strive to improve working practices to improve efficiency and performance in self & others.
