Nuclear Power Programmes are delivering client critical works to some of our major UK and European Projects. Our embedded teams are delivering support to Hinkley Point C (New build power station in the South West). A Team has been created to reinforce the HPC site-based engineering to quickly respond to engineering queries and problems coming from site construction, to deliver the schedule and to deliver an increased scope of work. A primary benefit of this organisation is to save time for construction on site by having reactive answers and solutions to pursue their activities. Your duties and responsibilities will be You’ll be reporting to an Engineering Lead within the Review & Acceptance Branch of the JDO, you will be a Mechanical Engineer, contributing to the review and acceptance of engineering queries raised by the site Contractor on the Piping and Supports scope across the CI/BOP and Nuclear Island buildings. Responding to General Queries, Non-Conformances, Change Request, and Exemption Requests originating from the MEH Contractor on site, with the support of the Responsible Designer. Provide adequate oversight to ensure the Nuclear Safety and Environmental Regulation requirements are met. Challenge design decisions so that engineering and design aligns with the project strategy. Assist in co-ordinating support from other external organisations. Contribute to the resolution and closure of Open Points. Assess technical risk and subsequently address this risk. Maintain a strong relationship with the clients Engineering (Responsible Designer) Report operationally to an Engineering Lead.You will have the following qualifications & experience Degree or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline. Experience in piping and support design, installation and/or commissioning. Knowledge in applying multi-disciplinary technical knowledge within the nuclear industry. Understanding of the construction / installation industry. Health & Safety legislation including CDM and Nuclear Site License requirements. Experience in the understanding of welding engineering.
