Operations Engineer for ESA Space Science project - Stevenage (m/f) - Ref. Would you like to be part of our specialist services group, who have been providing engineering support to space agencies and prime contractors for more than 50 years?
For our customer, a major space prime, we are seeking an experienced Operations Engineer for an exciting ESA space science project in Stevenage, UK.
You will be assigned as Operations Engineer to provide engineering support for operations of a major ESA space science mission, including production of Flight Operational Manuals (FOM) and development and validation of Flight Operations Procedures (FOPs) for different Satellite platforms and all instruments.
Management of the satellite FOP/FOM process in accordance with applicable standards and project requirements.
Interface with the Functional Validation architect: contribution to the Satellite Reference Data Base validation.
Configuration management and delivery of procedures versions to the users (CSW, FV team, AIT and EUMETSAT) according to schedule requirements, including documentation and interfaces with users.
Post-delivery support to users: for CSW production, during AIT, EM, and PFM phases, then during EUMETSAT SSVTs.
Procedure modifications: user input consolidation, modification verification, modification traceability and deployment versus user needs, DCR process management.
These is a full time position, located at our customer site in Stevenage (UK).
Start date of the project is foreseen in September 2024.

We have supported a large number of pioneering European scientific and Earth Observation satellite missions and continue to be contracted for the development and delivery of software and hardware systems and services for numerous ongoing and future European, and international missions.
Terma Space operates out of Denmark, The Netherlands, France, Germany, Austria, Romania, Czech Republic and the United Kingdom.
Master degree or equivalent qualification in Space Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Mathematics or a related discipline.
Solid knowledge of command/control of satellites and data processing
Understanding/knowledge of requirements engineering
State-of-the-art knowledge in area of IT Infrastructure and software development and related IT trends in industry
Experience and understanding of the following currently used technologies and engineering practices will be considered an asset:
Knowledge of MOIS ( Manufacturing and Operations Information System )
An ability to work independently and to establish good working relations within the customer, ESA and industrial counterparts is essential.
The holder must be flexible to adapt to the changes in priorities according to the project needs.
Language to communicate, to read/write documents is English: a good level is required. French would be a real asset.
The candidate has to be willing to undertake regular business travel between customer sites.
