We are an award-winning packaging manufacturer based in Hampshire, providing packaging solutions to a wide range of markets, including automotive, defence, and engineering sectors. We are now looking for a General Manager to work alongside and support our current Managing Director to take the business to the next stage of its journey, as we have strong aspirations for growth in the future.
BASIC SALARY: GBP50,000 - GBP60,000

23 Days Holiday LOCATION: Hampshire COMMUTABLE LOCATIONS: Basingstoke, Aldershot, Worthing, Portsmouth, Guildford, Southampton JOB DESCRIPTION: General Manager, Operations Manager, Manufacturing Manager - packaging manufacturing, packaging solutions Reporting to the Managing Director, as our General Manager, you will be directly responsible for the three current department managers: Office, Design, and Production. You will also manage the other 20 members of staff and resolve any customer service issues, liaise with third parties, handle Health and Safety, maintenance issues, design, and any disciplinary matters. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage up to 20 members of staff across Office, Design, and Production.
- Maintain minimum raw material stock levels.
- Organize machine and transport maintenance plans, including preventative maintenance visits.
- Oversee site and building maintenance.
- Responsible for people management, recruitment, motivation, training, and development.
- Manage and ensure health and safety compliance.
- Control all expenditure within agreed budgets.
- Maintain the ISO Quality Assurance Accreditation Programme.
- Provide leadership, strategic direction, and facilities management to the unit.
- Set high personal and professional standards in line with company policy.

- Proven track record of general, operational, or manufacturing management, preferably from the packaging industry (not essential).
- Customer-facing experience is of particular interest.
- Willingness to be a hands-on Manager.
- Organized, yet flexible individual.
- Knowledge of ISO9001 and ISO14001.
- Experience in organizing and developing processes.
- Possess drive, enthusiasm, and hold an air of authority.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work autonomously with a methodical and careful approach.
