Super opportunity for smart, business savvy, results-driven and high-energy marketer to join a dynamic and ambitious food business, working across 2 key brands in its portfolio.

Head 45-50 miles west of London (by train or car) to join this entrepreneurial and dynamic £1bn+ FMCG business with a portfolio of well-known, quality food brands sold across the globe. We’re looking for a smart FMCG-trained marketer at JBM or BM level, looking for their next step up in a challenging and busy role with great opportunities to demonstrate your brand building skills and flair.

In this challenging role, you’ll own an important (and delicious) growth brand for the business; driving trial, penetration and enjoyment in households across the UK. You’ll also provide support on another category-leading brand; working on projects across the mix, including developing retail activations, digital & social media initiatives and working cross-functionally on brand innovations and launches, within a lively, busy and empowered team.

Specific Responsibilities include

  • Developing and delivering the annual brand plan, working alongside senior marketing and commercial colleagues to achieve business and brand objectives and revenue & profit targets.
  • Analysis of consumer and shopper research data (Nielsen, Kantar, EPOS), to track brand performance, and identify relevant insights to underpin new growth opportunities.
  • Developing and managing consumer and shopper communications for your brand, and supporting the senior manager in developing activity and campaigns for other brands.
  • Leading design and packaging projects for existing brands/ranges and NPD launches.
  • Managing the development of a powerful innovation funnel, where appropriate managing NPD launches to contribute to the delivery of volume, profit, market share and distribution targets.
  • Supporting the senior team on wider marketing responsibilities, including award submissions, the consumer careline, PO tracking and budget reconciliations.
  • Assisting commercial teams with customer presentations, and keeping the brands front of mind for colleagues across the business.
  • Leading the trade marketing agenda for the foodservice channel, including planning trade shows and developing sales-support materials.

Skills & Experience Checklist

This is a role for a highly-motivated, high-energy, results-driven FMCG or consumer goods marketer with a minimum of 3-4 years’ solid experience working on FMCG brands. Key skills include:

  • Passionate and ambitious brand champion with proven success working with well-known FMCG brands, ideally including some food & drinks experience.
  • A strong interest in foods, as well as a natural curiosity for consumer and market issues and trends and new product launches.
  • Proven strategic thinking skills, able to harness consumer and customer insights and make strategic and tactical brand and business recommendations.
  • Strong team-working skills, used to working cross-functionally, in particular with sales, finance, operations and R&D/product development teams.
  • Specific experience in managing NPD and packaging design projects with a good understanding of stage/project management processes.
  • Knowledge of continuous insight data, and ideally some exposure to ad-hoc research techniques focused around NPD concept development and testing.
  • Proactive self-starter who can work at speed, take ownership and make things happen in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • An understanding of commercial and financial issues, used to managing P&Ls and reporting on performance.
  • First class communication and presentation skills
