The adult audiology department at Queens Hospital are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated Band 5 Audiologist to work within our small, friendly, busy Audiology Department at Queens Hospital Burton.

To hold responsibility for own caseload, working without direct supervision. Supervision takes the form of regular formal training and clinical reasoning sessions, peer review, case conferences.

Access to advice and support from a senior Audiologist is available if required, clinical work is not routinely evaluated.

To provide a high standard Audiology district wide service to patients, including the various hospitals run by the trust.

To work in a range of clinical settings as determined by the needs of the Audiology service.

To assess and treat own patient caseload, and maintain associated records.

To perform Audiology assessment of patients with diverse presentations and complex physical and psychological conditions.

Main duties of the job

The successful applicant will join our Adult Team of Audiologists, Hearing Therapists and Assistant Audiologists, to provide a comprehensive diagnostic and rehabilitative service which will include working with patients on the AQP, Complex and Direct Referral pathways.

The department also works closely with and provides support for ENT clinics. In addition to this the department provides a comprehensive tinnitus clinic.

You will be expected to work across three sites, Queens Hospital Burton, Sir Robert Peel Hospital, Tamworth, and the Samuel Johnson Hospital, Lichfield, so a willingness to travel is essential.

A willingness to undertake further training is essential, in house training and full clinical supervision will be supported by the department.

Burton-on-Trent is situated with easy links to all of the Midlands having excellent road (A38, A50, M1, M42) and rail links.
