Role overview: We are seeking a skilled CAD (Computer-Aided Design) Technician to join our dynamic team. As a CAD Technician, you will play a pivotal role in our design process, utilising AutoCAD software to create detailed technical drawings, layouts, elevations and working drawings. Your expertise will contribute to the development of innovative products and projects across the residential design industry. RGI delivers projects of all sizes, including but not limited to bathrooms, kitchens, dressing rooms, offices, boot rooms and utilities. As well as design, this role requires strong organisation skills and attention to detail, as well as great communication both internally and externally to our stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drafting and Design: Generate accurate 2D drawings based on project requirements and specifications.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with our designers and project managers to understand design concepts and translate them into technical drawings.
  • Revision Management: Maintain organised documentation and manage revisions throughout the design process to ensure accuracy and compliance with standards.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough reviews of drawings to identify errors or inconsistencies and make necessary corrections.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical assistance and guidance to internal teams and external stakeholders regarding CAD software functionality and best practices.
  • Research and Development: Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and CAD software advancements to enhance design processes and efficiency.
  • Problem Solving: Identify and resolve design challenges or discrepancies by implementing innovative solutions while adhering to project timelines.

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in CAD Software: Extensive experience with industry-standard AutoCAD.
  • Technical Aptitude: An understanding of design principles and tolerancing.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in creating technical drawings and models.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and convey technical information.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Proven ability to identify issues, analyse problems, and develop practical solutions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Time Management: Demonstrated capability to prioritise tasks, manage workload efficiently, and meet project deadlines.
  • Educational Background: An associated degree is preferred.
