Our client are looking for experienced and motivated Health and Safety Consultants to join our team to work on a wide variety of projects and frameworks, primarily in the role of Principal Designer (Advisor) and CDM Advisor.

The role will require sound knowledge and experience of the CDM Regulations. Candidates should be able to demonstrate the ability to undertake the following on a range of projects:

Develop sound working relationships with the design teams and client

Undertake and lead CDM workshops with multi-disciplinary design teams and Principal Contractors, challenging both permanent and temporary works design with respect to health and safety

Develop the preconstruction information and advise the client on gaps on this information

Liaison with the Principal Contractor in order that the Construction Phase Plan is suitably developed

Advising and supporting the client on discharging their duties

Development of the Health and Safety File

In addition to this we are looking for an individual to drive quality and diversity of our service offering, provide support in the management of existing clients and continuing to raise the profile of the company.

You will be joining a team of like-minded experts that have a passion for safety and health to deliver delivered proportionate risk solutions for our clients.

Location

The role will be home based with project delivery mainly in London although we can service all parts of the UK depending on our client.

London meeting attendance is therefore a requirement of this role to service projects as required.

We have serviced office breakout space available at Hamilton House (Regis), close to King’s Cross Station and the ability to reserve meeting room space as required.

Responsibilities

You will need to be from a consultancy or client organisation with the ability to:

Managing the role of Principal Designer / Principal Designer Adviser & CDM Adviser under the CDM Regulations.

Manage and ensure the delivery of Health and Safety Consulting team outputs, in accordance with agreed timescales and quality standards.

Develop strong reciprocal relationships with clients and members of the project team.

Providing wider Health & Safety consultancy services to clients.

Preparation of fee proposals – attendance at Client presentations if required.

Be a primary interface with clients (new and existing).

Provide full Health & Safety consultancy duties to clients.

Minimum Requirements:

A minimum of 5 years proven experience in a consulting or client / contractor environment providing the full spectrum of Health and Safety services particularly CDM bias services such as Principal Designer and CDM Client Advisor, inspection and auditing, safety management system development and implementation etc.

Proven ability to lead projects from the front and advise clients and design teams on safety and health related matters and being a pivotal member of a project team.

Passionate about delivering high quality consulting services to our clients.

Experience in design delivery stages and construction processes

Being an ambassador for the company

Excellent IT Skills and the ability to utilise typical office based software but with vision to develop new ways of presenting data.

Excellent numeracy, verbal and written communication skills.

Willingness to challenge in a positive and engaging manner.

Understanding of a variety of project types/sizes/sectors within our active sectors in the UK – eg. Commercial Offices, Infrastructure, Residential, Mixed Use, Education and Healthcare.

Ability to work under own initiative

Ability to manage workload priorities

Being an ambassador for company

Preferred Qualifications:

Professionally Qualified – ideally Chartered or Graduate status with the IOSH.

Degree qualified

Membership of Association for Project Safety

NEBOSH National Certificate in Construction Health and Safety preferred (or equivalent)

Professional qualification in a construction, engineering, building surveying or building services discipline - desirable

Memberships of either, CMIOSH, IMaPS/CMaPS and/or IEng/CEng, RIBA or equivalent
