To support families at key times, some work may be required outside of usual office hours.

Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership Trust provides a full range of expanding physical, mental health and learning disability services to children, young adults, adults, and older adults over many sites across Coventry and Warwickshire.


The Autism Intensive Support Team works across Coventry and the whole of Warwickshire (north and south) to provide an additional layer of specialist wrap around support to the existing teams involved in supporting children and adults who are most at risk of admission to Tier 4 hospital. We sit within the Learning Disability and Autism Directorate and as such we are part of a large multi-professional group which offers the opportunity for knowledge and skill sharing. There will be opportunities for Continual Professional Development, regular clinical supervision and training, and participation in ongoing research and development initiatives. As a team we work systemically to understand and support the significant impact and challenges experienced by people with autism and their families. To do this, we work with the network around the person (e.g., Social Care, Education) and work closely with commissioners and our mental health colleagues across services. As a Clinical Psychologist you will have experience of Multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working as you will need to attend regular MDTs, CETRs and EMDTs.


Other responsibilities include providing consultation within the MDT and externally, joint working with other agencies, participation and involvement in service development, research and business meetings and providing supervision (where appropriate) to other psychology staff or team members providing psychologically informed interventions.

PhD or DClinPsych or equivalent in Clinical Psychology (Clinical/Counselling).
Registered as an Clinical Psychologist (Clinical/Counselling) with the HCPC
Pre and post-qualification training in specialist assessment and treatment of children and young people with complex mental health problems, neuropsychological assessment, research methodology, staff training and/or other fields of applied psychology.
Good honours degree in Psychology. Eligibility for Graduate Membership of the BPS
Post qualification training in one or more evidence based psychological approach with children with complex and severe mental health problems (e.g. CBT or systemic psychotherapy
Qualifications or equivalent experience for teaching, training and supervising of doctoral level trainees

Knowledge of the range of young people's mental health problems and mental health services
Understanding of child development and family functioning
Knowledge of key policy and guidance relating to Children and young people with ASD and or learning disability.

Experience in a CAMHS or similar setting
Experience of specialist psychological assessment and treatment with children and young people with ASD, learning disabilities and mental health needs and their families across the full range of care settings
