What we are looking for:

  • Teachers who can teach face-to-face in Holland Park
  • Teachers with some availability for at least one day Monday to Thursday from 18:00 to 20:00
  • Ready to start on the week of the 16th of September

Job Description:

We are seeking enthusiastic, high-energy, professional and very experienced teachers for French to join our pool of teachers and lead our students in achieving their results. Your role will involve creating a supportive and enjoyable learning environment that promotes language acquisition and cultural exploration. This is a remarkable opportunity for the right candidate to make a significant impact on our new Modern Language division.

Main duties and skills:

  • Develop and design courses that align with the interests and goals of adult learners and the school.
  • Focus their classes mainly on practising the speaking part of the language
  • Use mainly the target language since the start.
  • Implement creative and engaging teaching methods that encourage active participation, conversation, and real-world language use.
  • Be able to help students with different learning speeds by differentiating the material when/if needed.
  • Integrate cultural elements and activities into the curriculum to provide learners with a deeper understanding of the language's context and culture.
  • Provide constructive feedback and guidance to learners while promoting a non-judgmental and growth-oriented atmosphere.
  • Foster a sense of community among learners, encouraging collaboration, peer support, and cultural exchange. Recognize and respect the diverse needs, motivations, and backgrounds of adult learners.
  • Be punctual and precise on admin documentation required for the job.

Qualifications & Experience:

The ideal candidate has a highly proficient level in the taught language and should have lived for a year or more in a country where that language is spoken. The candidate must offer a proven track record in successfully running face-to-face or online adult language courses in Universities or Language schools' environments and actively engaging with students in order to teach group courses.

Essential:

  • Right to work in the UK (for residents in UK)
  • Native or C2 level in the target language
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English
  • At least a University bachelor's degree in any topic
  • A Modern Language teaching certification (CLTA, DITALS, CTCSOL, TCSOL, etc.) or a University degree in the subject.
  • At least 3 years experience as a Modern Language teacher for adult learners.
  • Flexible, resilient, and organised.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to inspire students and create a relaxed, supportive, and non-judgmental learning atmosphere.

Desirable:

  • A University degree in the target language (master's degree preferred).
  • Experience in Teacher training e.g., CLTA training
