Position - Production Supervisor Hours - Rotating 2 shift pattern (6am - 2pm/2pm - 10pm) Location - Bradford Salary - £15.21 - £16.45 The Thrive Group wakefield are currently looking for a Production Supervisor to work in this challenging role within a high-volume, fast-moving manufacturing operation, supervising and leading a team of skilled technicians, line leaders, and line operatives, occasionally utilising agency workers at peak demand. Typical responsibilities will include: Supervising and leading the team ensuring required staffing levels are met and all relevant information, materials and components are available to complete the production plan Ensure Health and Safety procedures and policies relating to PPE, safe ways of working and equipment guarding are available, communicated, visible and strictly adhered to Monitoring the completion of tasks, ensuring all essential transactions and data sets are captured on the relevant systems Supervise, mentor, and support the team on process best practices utilising and/or updating standard operating procedures. Regularly checking the production lines and checkpoints to ensure a safe and efficient workflow. Generation of, and involvement with, continuous improvement utilising lean manufacturing principles by highlighting deficiencies and recommending changes in training, working practices and processes Consistently promoting high standards through personal example so that each member of the team understands the standards and behaviours expected of them Resource management of holiday allowances, participation in recruitment, undertaking and organising inductions and training, undertaking performance appraisal, and monitoring timekeeping and attendance Support, encourage and develop the team, and take ownership of team cohesion. Liaise and communicate with other internal department service providers, developing and maintaining strong relationships to ensure optimal performanceSkills and attributes: Excellent leadership and people management skills with a minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience Strong interpersonal skills Ability to manage a variety of cross-functional team members Good written, verbal, and numerical skills Excellent organisational and follow-up skills Competent in problem-solving, team building, planning and decision-making Commercially awareSelf-management: Proactively contribute to creating a good team atmosphere Anticipate and overcome obstacles Embrace personal challenge Confident, rounded thinking Is self-aware Be resilient, optimistic, and open to change Has an adult-to-adult, collaborative approach.
